Abstract

«Étude Approndie sur les adolescents—Exploiter les données pour identifier et atteindre les jeunes les plus vulnérables: Bénin 2006» fait partie d'une série de guides du Population Council, qui se basent essentiellement sur les données des Enquêtes démographiques et de santé, pour fournir aux décideurs à tous les niveaux—des gouvernements, des organisations non gouvernementales et des groupes de plaidoyer—des données sur la situation des adolescentes, des garçons et des jeunes femmes âgées de 10–24 ans. Les données sont présentées sous forme de graphiques, de tableaux et de cartes (dans la mesure du possible), soit de nombreux formats pour rendre l'information accessible à différents publics. La section I est l'avant-propos. La section II présente de courtes notes techniques sur chaque pays, en indiquant les sources des données et les tailles des échantillons. La section III apporte une vue d’ensemble des Objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement. La section IV résume certaines données clés des adolescents de 10–24 ans et présente les tableaux graphiques et cartes en trois grands thèmes. La section IV-A donne une vue d’ensemble des informations concernant la diversité des adolescents de 10–24 ans habitant dans le pays. La section IV-B met en relief la tranche des 10–14 ans. La section IV-C met en évidence les circonstances des relations sexuelles, au sein du mariage ou en dehors. La section V contient des observations finales.

“The Adolescent Experience In-Depth: Using Data to Identify and Reach the Most Vulnerable Young People: Benin 2006” is part of a series of Population Council guides that draw principally on data from the Demographic and Health Surveys to provide decisionmakers at all levels—from governments, nongovernmental organizations, and advocacy groups—with evidence on the situation of adolescent girls and boys and young women aged 10–24 years. The data are presented in graphs, tables, and maps (wherever possible), providing multiple formats to make the information accessible to a range of audiences. Section I is the Foreword. Section II offers brief technical notes specific to each country outlining data sources and sample sizes. Section III provides an overview of the Millennium Development Goals. Section IV provides selective summaries of key data for adolescents aged 10–24 and organizes the graphs, tables, and maps into three themes. Section IV-A provides an overview of information on the diversity of adolescents aged 10–24 living in the country. Section IV-B highlights the 10–14-year age range. Section IV-C highlights the context of sexual relations, whether inside or outside marriage. Section V contains concluding remarks.
