Abstract
El programa Abriendo Oportunidades nació en 2004 como un proyecto de programación centrada en niñas adolescentes, con el propósito de fortalecer una transición segura hacia la adolescencia e incrementar su promoción y retención escolar. Con base en evidencia, el Population Council diseñó guías curriculares que contienen herramientas y ejercicios para las sesiones con niñas y mentoras basados en tres ejes transversales: derechos humanos, perspectiva de género, e interculturalidad y pertinencia. Este documento es la guía de los mentores para la sesión sobre el Fortalecimiento de capacidades para mujeres adolescentes, orientado al desarrollo de Plan de Vida y Habilidades para la Vida.

The Abriendo Oportunidades program was launched in 2004 as a project focused on adolescent girls, with the purpose of strengthening their safe transition to adolescence and increasing their school promotion and retention. Based on evidence, the Population Council designed curricular guides that contain tools and exercises for sessions with girls and mentors based on three transversal axes: human rights, gender perspective, and interculturality and relevance. This document is the mentors’ guide for the session on Strengthening of Capacities for Adolescent Girls, focused on the development of a Life Plan and Life Skills.
