Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had unprecedented effects on communities around the world. In 2021, the Presidential Policy and Strategy Unit (PASU), in collaboration with the Population Council, launched a study to explore the social, economic, health, and education impact the pandemic has had on the lives of adolescents in Kenya. The resulting report covered the following topics: remote learning, economic effects, teenage pregnancy, early marriage and harmful practices, mental health, gender-based violence, and the return to school. This photo reel shares the stories of some of the study participants.
