Abstract

En esta guía de mentoras se presenta un relato de lo que sucede en la vida de Esperanza, de las situaciones de todos los días que la hacen preguntarse cosas. Abarca los distintos momentos históricos y sociales que el país y la comunidad han atravesado. Así, las niñas del grupo de Abriendo Oportunidades irán reforzando conocimientos que les serán útiles en su vida y que se comunicarán con el aprendizaje que la escuela les brindará en el área de estudios sociales, particularmente en relación con la historia de Guatemala. Son preguntas simples que requieren respuestas complejas, y por eso es muy útil tratar de responderlas entre todas. Tienen que ver con ella misma, con su grupo familiar, con su comunidad, su municipio, su departamento, su país; con la historia de todos ellos.

This mentors’ guide presents an account of what happens in the life of Esperanza, and the everyday situations that make her question things. It covers the different historical and social moments that the country and the community have experienced. Thus, the girls in the Abriendo Oportunidades group will be reinforcing knowledge that will be useful to them in their lives and that coordinate with the lessons that the school provides them in the area of social studies, particularly with regard to the history of Guatemala. There are simple questions that require complex answers, so it is useful to try to answer them all. They have to do with Esperanza herself, with her family group, with her community, her municipality, her department, and her country; and with all of their history.
