Abstract
Leveraging our experience developing the monthly dapivirine vaginal ring ( DVRor “ PrEP ring”), which received a positive opinion from the European MedicinesAgency in 2020 for women’s HIV risk reduction, the Population Council hasdeveloped a 3-month DVR as a line-extension of the monthly DVR, with plans tosubmit for European Medicines Agency ( EMA) review in the near future. The 3-month DVR is expected to significantly reduce annual costs of HIV prevention.
