Abstract
In this blog published by Knowledge SUCCESS, Breakthrough RESEARCH's Leanne Dougherty and Phil Anglewicz of Performance Monitoring for Action (PMA) share the importance of collecting behavioral determinant data to inform family planning (FP) social and behavior change (SBC) programs and policies. Behavioral determinants are the factors that influence or shape a health behavior. In the context of FP, some relevant behavioral determinants include intentions (for example, motivation to use an FP method) and attitudes (satisfaction with the method). In addition to its importance, the authors share their expertise on how, and at-scale, to collect the data, and the challenges they have encountered while trying to gather this data.
